30 Years Connecting Costa Rica with Safety, Trust, and Experience

In June 2026, Interbus celebrates 30 years of experience as one of Costa Rica’s pioneering companies in shared and private tourist transportation. For three decades, the company has connected thousands of travelers with the country’s main destinations through a safe, comfortable, organized, and reliable service.

Interbus was founded by Marco Occhi and Nury Mora, who identified the need for a dependable transportation option that would allow travel agencies, tour operators, and visitors to create itineraries across different regions of Costa Rica. Since its beginnings, the company has helped connect beaches, mountains, volcanoes, forests, airports, and communities as part of a complete travel experience.

In 2018, Interbus became part of the Quirós family, strengthening its business structure and opening a new stage of growth, consolidation, and continuous improvement. Today, under the leadership of Mr. José Seas and Mr. Andrés Lang, the company continues to focus on service quality, operational efficiency, and strong relationships with clients, agencies, hotels, partners, and collaborators.

Throughout these 30 years, Interbus has not only transported passengers; it has connected experiences. Families, couples, students, groups, first-time visitors, and frequent travelers have trusted the company to move safely and comfortably throughout Costa Rica. With shared and private services, as well as modern Toyota units, Interbus adapts to the needs of different types of travelers.

Its operation has had an important impact in destinations such as Guanacaste, Manuel Antonio, the Caribbean, La Fortuna, Monteverde, and the country’s main airports. By connecting visitors with these regions, Interbus has contributed to the decentralization of tourism and to the economic development of local communities, benefiting hotels, restaurants, guides, tours, businesses, and local suppliers.

Today, Interbus transports more than 10,000 passengers per month and generates direct employment in operations, driving, reservations, administration, sales, logistics, and support. With nine operational bases across the country and a central office in San José, the company continues to integrate local talent, especially drivers from the communities where it operates.

The company’s growth has also been possible thanks to the trust of travel agencies, tour operators, hotels, and commercial partners who have placed their clients in Interbus’ hands over the years. Their support has been essential to the company’s history and success.

Interbus also recognizes the commitment of its team members, who make the daily operation possible and represent the essence of the service. Their work, professionalism, and dedication have been fundamental throughout these 30 years.

During the pandemic, Interbus faced one of the most challenging periods in its history. However, thanks to the commitment of its team, the support of its partners, and its ability to adapt, the company moved forward, recovered part of its operation, and continued strengthening its service.

Interbus has also grown with responsibility, promoting road safety, preventive maintenance, efficient operations, sustainability, and quality. In line with Costa Rica’s environmental commitment, the company offsets its CO₂ emissions with FONAFIFO and holds recognitions such as Blue Flag, CST, and Marca País.

Looking to the future, Interbus aims to continue modernizing its service, strengthening its digital channels, improving the booking experience, and consolidating its role as a strategic partner for Costa Rican tourism.
