The Prusia park, Cartago
The Prusia park is part of the Irazu Volcano National Park, located in the province of Cartago, this beautiful park has 16km of trails where you can enjoy abundant vegetation; to get from San José you must take the Florencio del Castillo road to Cartago, until arriving at Tierra Blanca down town, from here it is 2 kilometers to the northeast road to the Irazú Volcano, take the junction on the left and continue approximately 4 kilometers more; the road to this area is in good condition, this road is pavement. The park is open every day from 08:00 a.m. to 03:30 p.m.
In Prusia park, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Cartago city, inside the park you will find an area for picnics and several paths to can walk trails such as La Cajeta and El Bajo La Laguna, where is the source of the Reventazon river. If you take the tours and take time to do a picnic, it will take you three to four hours to do it; and if you are going to do these tours we recommend wearing sunscreen, repellent, coat, water, suitable footwear, comfortable clothing for walking and for cold and a focus; also remember that by the altitude of the area can alter breathing and heart rate.
